Tamatori (also known as Ama, meaning “woman diver”) was a skilled pearl diver married to Fujiwara no Fuhito, a nobleman. One day, a precious jewel belonging to the Dragon King of the sea was lost, and Tamatori bravely dove into the ocean to retrieve it. She entered the dragon’s undersea palace, where she found the jewel guarded by sea creatures and spirits.

To escape with it, she cut open her own breast and hid the jewel inside, so the sea creatures could not snatch it back. She managed to swim toward the surface, but the self-inflicted wound caused her to bleed heavily. She died shortly after reaching the shore, but she had succeeded in returning the jewel to her husband and family.

Crafted for the modern man with a vintage twist, this Custom Modded Seiko wristwatch marries classic style with contemporary functionality. The 1977 dial features a distinctive Michelin Man dial, a nod to retro aesthetics, paired with a sleek blue dial and a robust black rotating bezel that adds a touch of sophistication to any look.

Under the hood lies a reliable mechanical (automatic) movement, ensuring precise timekeeping with every movement. Additional features such as water-resistance, luminous hands, a screwdown crown, and a sapphire crystal provide durability and visibility, while the self-winding capability and seconds hand keep you on time for every important moment.
